But achieving that perfect “mochi-like” texture can be tricky. Sometimes it turns out powdery, rough, or just… not chewy enough.

So, what’s the texture of Motchurin really like?

To be honest, the Mitara-shi and Azuki (Red Bean) flavors were the chewiest in my opinion.
But depending on the store and how they fry them, some flavors felt a bit soft and “floppy” rather than chewy.

One thing I noticed though… there were so many older people in the shop!
Usually, the place is packed with young folks, so it was quite a surprise to see so many seniors around.

And it made sense — “Motchurin” donuts are super soft and easy to bite into, perfect for people who might not have the strongest jaws.

Oh, and by the way, I had to ask my mom to buy them for me this time…

Honest Thoughts on Each Flavor

① Mitara-shi (Soy Sauce Glaze)

The bold soy sauce flavor hits you right away — in a good way!
Unlike the sweet convenience store mitara-shi dango, this one has a rich, savory soy sauce kick, balanced with a subtle touch of kombu (kelp) broth.

It reminded me of those nostalgic, old-school Japanese dango shops.
If you still have one of those in your neighborhood, I’m honestly jealous!

② Brown Sugar & Warabi Mochi

The brown sugar adds a stylish twist compared to plain white sugar.
And inside? Plenty of gooey, wobbly warabi mochi — almost like a soft jam texture.

It gave me the same kind of fancy vibe as coffee jelly drinks.
You can practically sip the donut with the filling — gone in seconds, no regrets!♡

③ Azuki (Red Bean)

Not quite a daifuku, not quite bread — there’s a subtle rice-flour-like chewiness to it.
If you’re a fan of Korean hotteok (sweet pancakes), you’d probably love this one.

It was the chewiest of the bunch and even brought back memories of when my friends and I made hotteok together. So nostalgic!

④ Kinako (Soybean Powder)

This one’s like a fancy take on kinako-agepan (deep-fried bread with soybean powder).
But unlike Mister Donut’s usual oil-light donuts, the Motchurin absorbed the oil, creating a rich, deep-fried goodness you can’t get otherwise.

The outer layer gets a slightly crispy, skin-like texture, while the inside stays soft and squishy — that contrast is seriously addictive.

With the combo of kinako, oil, and sugar — it’s dangerously tasty.
I devoured it without even realizing… totally worth it!

【ミスド55周年】新食感ドーナツ「もっちゅりん」食べてみた感想！

ミスタードーナツ55周年を記念して登場した「もっちゅりん」シリーズ、ついにゲットしました〜！✨

新食感のドーナツってことで気になってた人も多いよね。
私も母と半分こして、じっくり味わってきました。

やっぱりミスドといえばポン・デ・リング！日本中の「もっちり好き」を虜にした伝説のドーナツ。
でも「もっちり」を極めようとすると、粉っぽかったり、ザラザラしたり、うまくいかないことも多いんだよね…。

そんな中で生まれた「もっちゅりん」、奇跡的な美味しさを誇るドーナツでした✨

もっちゅりんってどんな食感？

結論から言うと、私が食べた中で一番「もっちゅり」していたのは【みたらし】と【あずき】。
ただ、店舗や揚げ具合にもよるのか、他のフレーバーは少し「ふにゃっと」した印象もありました。

そして意外な発見が…。
私が行った店舗では、なんと高齢の方が多かったんです！
いつもは若者でにぎわう店内なのに、びっくりするくらいおじいちゃん・おばあちゃんの姿が…。

これ、もしかして「食べやすさ」が理由かも？と思いました。
「もっちゅりん」って、噛む力が弱くなった世代でも安心して楽しめるやわらかさが魅力なんです。

そうそう、ちなみに今回「母にお願いして買ってきてもらった」のには別の理由があって…。
いつも売り切れでなかなか手に入らないんです！お母さん、ありがとう〜！

各フレーバーを食べた正直な感想

① みたらし

醤油の味がガツンと効いててびっくり！
スーパーやコンビニでよくある甘めのみたらし団子とは違って、しっかりとした醤油の風味が広がる。
昆布だしの隠し味が効いていて、手作り感のある懐かしさ…。

昔ながらの町のお団子屋さんを思い出すような、ちょっとザラっとしたタレがまた良い味出してます。
近くにそんなお店が残ってる人、正直うらやましい…！

② 黒糖＆わらび餅

白砂糖じゃなく黒糖ってだけでオシャレ感アップ。
とろっとろのわらび餅が中にもたっぷり入ってて、ジャムみたいな不思議な柔らかさ！
コーヒーゼリー入りドリンクみたいに、生地と一緒に「飲めちゃう」感覚。秒で完食しちゃいました♡

③ あずき

大福でもない、パンでもない…だけど米粉っぽさも感じる不思議な食感。
韓国のホットックが好きな人にはハマるかも？
一番「もっちり感」が強くて、私は昔友達と作ったホットックの思い出が蘇ったよ〜。

④ きなこ

これは…きな粉揚げパンを思わせる味わい！
ただ、今までの「油を吸わない系」のミスドのドーナツとはまったく違って、しっかり油を吸った生地だからこそ出せる、揚げパン寄りのおいしさがあるんです。

もっちゅりんも、外側がしっかり揚がって「皮」っぽくなってて、中との食感の違いが面白い！
ふにゃっとした柔らかい中身と、ちょっと香ばしい外側、そのギャップがクセになる感じ。

きな粉と油と砂糖の、罪なおいしさの組み合わせは健在。
気づいたらペロッと完食しちゃいました♡
